The Story of Eros: God of Sexual Desire

Aphrodite and Ares were one of the happiest and most passionate couples among the Greek gods! However, not long after Ares had lost many wars against barbarian tribes, he also lost his appetite to sleep with his beautiful wife and give her divine pleasure. So great was his sorrow that most of the times he shut himself in one of Olympus’ castles, and he didn’t even exchange a word with the rest of the gods.

Everyone knew that something was wrong, but they didn’t dare say a word because Ares was so proud, brave, bold and almost always victorious. So, one of their sons, Elxis - meaning attraction in Greek-was very sad about his parents’ unhappiness and decided to do something about it! He ran to the Oracle of Delphi to ask Apollo how he could recover his father’s lust, and the Oracle answered that Elxis should travel across the vast lands and the wide seas to find the ingredients with which he would make the most powerful drink of all! Without hesitating, he flew to the north to find the Land of Roses and meet Rosered, the beautiful princess with red hair.

He asked her if she needed any help to exchange his assistance with the ingredient he sought for. Rosered complained that her hair colour - her trademark and pride - was slowly fading, as there was no more red rain falling from the sky. He gathered some red cardinal birds right away, turned them into red clouds, and the rain started once again, giving Rosered’s hair its lost splendour back! She gave him in return the rose hips he was looking for.

Next, he flew to the kingdom of the East, where various powerful kings complained that huge waves were destroying their glorious cities, villages and planted fields over and over again. Elxis asked them to blow all together at once. He then turned their breath into a wild wind, which, as it was blown upon the sea, managed to tame the huge waves after a very long time of devastating floods! As a token of their gratitude, he was given exotic Ginkgo Biloba and Ashwagandha - his fabulous drink's next ingredients.

Right after, he visited wild Africa in the south, where wise mages tried untiringly to improve their people’s lives and teach them to admire the forces of nature and respect the love between each other. They expressed their worries about the severe problem they were facing with the constant and intense sun heat, which sometimes even brought men, who worked on the fields all day long, to the point of being burnt.

Elxis requested a white, clean sheet, and then he spread it above everyone’s head and turned it into a massive cover in the sky so that they could continue working with safety!
